Olga Luxová Lady miller´s strudel

Olga Luxová took over the operation of the Inn in Starý mlýn in Bukovina after her parents. She grew up in a family employed all her life in the hospitality business. She trained herself as a chef and waiter.

But when she was growing up, cooking didn't really appeal to her. As the saying goes, "the biggest slice of bread is the best", Olga also understood that she had to learn to cook and began to take over the experience and recipes from her father, a renowned chef. Currently, including the inn, she takes care of her twins, with whom her mother helps her.

The last miller, Anna Hanousková, became the inspiration for the regional product "Mrs. miller's strudel", which is baked according to an old family recipe. Anička was certainly very fond of her craft and prepared various goodies from ground flour. Strudel was definitely one of them. She had a source of flour and plenty of apples and nuts from the mill garden, and she also had a good cellar for winter storage. Just like her, strudel is prepared from regional ingredients and baked with love.

Not everyone likes sweets, especially men who appreciate the spicy cabbage version with bacon. Salty strudel Olga Luxová occasionally bakes for events organized in Bukovina or to order.

Since 2016, Lady Miller's strudel has been using the Iron Mountains regional product certificate, and since 2018, Hostinec in Starý mlýn has joined the GOURMET TRAIL.

You can taste Lady Miller´s strudel at events in the Iron Mountains region or at the Inn in Starý Mlýn in Bukovina from June to September. If they are home at the weekend, you can ring the doorbell to the inn from 2 p.m.
